Surgery, crazy weather and Valentine's day

My 2nd laporoscopy hysteroscopy with lysis of the intrauterine septum surgery has been scheduled for March 21st at the LDS Hospital, so now you know.
So yesterday was pretty crazy. I'd heard there'd be storm coming, but it wouldn't hit 'til between 4 and 6. I figured I was good to do my stuff. After work I go to Curves (around 3) then head home and get there around 4. I left Curves, and there were some flurries of snow in Lehi, but I figured I'd get home before it got too bad. As I drove further west into Saratoga Springs, the wind was blowing like crazy (I heard later on the news it was going up to 70 mph) which blew the snow horizontally and made visibility really bad. I considered taking the back road into Eagle Mountain, but figured the main road would be safest with less twists and turns. Bad idea it turns out. I didn't get too far on the state road past redwood road, maybe a mile, when the traffic came to a complete stop. I figured we'd get moving eventually, but I was wrong again. In the course of  4 and 1/2 hours, I moved about 2 car spaces ahead. At the beginning I was at the back left corner of an R.C. Willey delivery truck, and the wind was blowing so hard that the back end slid my direction. I was freaking out and praying like crazy that it wouldn't happen again and hit me. I was almost positive I was gonna die, either by the R.C. Willey truck blowing over on top of me, or by sliding off the road and flipping multiple times (you get a very morbid and active imagination after being stuck in one spot for a long time).
The radio said that the road I was on was now closed to traffic, lucky me and the other people on the closed road. What the heck were we supposed to do if the road was closed? The radio said the road was closed because of how many accidents there were, which I ended up seeing when we were finally able to move.
When the police officers finally let people through, I had to get pushed a few different times. Every time we'd get stopped, I'd get stuck again. Even when we were moving I'd get stuck. Luckily the guy behind me was very helpful and held back so I could back up and readjust my weak little car. Up until this winter, my car was pretty good in all seasons, but this winter has been so crazy and weird that it hasn't been able to do so well in deeper snow on the roads.
I'd become so crazy with the interminable waiting that once I was able to move I was talking to my car, calling it baby, telling it we can make it, you can do this. I think I had gone insane for a little while there, but I'm pretty sure I'm back to normal now.
So, after leaving Curves at 3:30, I finally got home (safely I might add) at 8, sobbing with relief and gratitude that I'd made it home, and safely to boot. I have to add that at about 1 hr into the wait, I needed to go to the bathroom, it only got worse and luckily I made it to the bathroom in time.
Jer had an ordeal of his own, you can read about that on his blog (under Jeremy's personal blog in the other blogs we read column).  When he finally got home, he gave me some flowers he'd picked up with his Dad earlier, they're very pretty and I'm very lucky to have him.

Needless to say, it was a long and exhausting night. They didn't open that main road until late this Valentine's morning- so I didn't go to work. Jer and I spent all of Valentine's day together, it was nice. We went to the Gateway Apple store to get our computer back, went to Subway for lunch, then to Hollywood video where we picked up "The Painted Veil" and "Martian Child".
We got home and hung out, then made spaghetti alfredo together, and I made a peanut butter and peanut butter and chocolate chip bundt cake with chocolate frosting.
We ate dinner at our kitchen table (probably the 4th time we've ever eaten at the table) with lit candles and sparkling cider, and now we're watching "The Painted Veil" on our futon mattress on the floor in the living room, it's nice and cozy. Oh, and today marks our 3 year kiss anniversary, exciting right?
Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow Jules! I thought it was bad that it took me 1.5 hours to drive six miles from one job to the other that night. I'll be grateful that I didn't have to go through what you did. Glad you're safe!

Your Valentine's Day sounded great. I wish that I didn't have to work yesterday, but it wouldn't have mattered cos Sean had studying all day until class from 7-10. We'll celebrate our Valentine's this weekend.
