President Hinckley

We just found out about the death of our beloved Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley (on myspace of all places). Jules cried, Jer just seemed to be in shock. This is such sad news, but we know he's in a much better place, and with his dear wife again. He will be missed and remembered. He did so much for our religion and worked constantly for everyone.

Snow Removal

This isn't a big thing or special in any way, but on Monday, January 21st, the day of the big snow storm I offered to come remove some snow from around Jules' car at work, without her asking (she had mentioned she'd be digging it out when she got off). I don't have a snow shovel and was wondering how I would remove the snow. When I got there I realized I would have to use my ice scraper. While I was scooping snow away I couldn't stop laughing. I've never removed snow with an ice scraper. It kind of sucked doing it, but my ironical laughter kept me going. It's a good ice scraper.

Lava Hot Springs

This weekend (well, more like Fri night-Sat morning), we went to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It was Jules' first time there, and Jer's 3rd.
On the way up we stopped in Logan so Jules could eat at the Fire House Pizzeria, and Jer could reminisce about his good ol' college days. That was fun.

When we got to LHS we checked into our luxurious ghetto motel and got ready to go soak in the springs. The air was freezing cold, so it was a good thing the springs were only about 50 ft from our motel.
There was a lot of steam coming from them, and the water was wicked hot. Just when you started to get used to the heat, the water temp would go up, it was crazy.
Sadly, it was really busy with kids and college people all over the place, so it was pretty much impossible to find a quiet, romantic corner. Oh well, we had fun anyway.
It was fun to go, but it was so nice to get home. Motels really make you miss your own bed.

Enjoy the pics!

Post Christmas

So we wanted to talk about some of the presents we both got for Christmas and the efforts that Jer went to hold a surprise form Jules with one of the gifts.

First of all, the coolest gifts that we got were a customized Bobble Head for Jer, which is one of the coolest things ever. It looks a lot like him. And Jules got a Western Caribbean cruise which leaves out of New Orleans and will be celebrating her Birthday as well.

Jules took pictures of Jer from head on and from the side and he was going crazy with curiosity as to what she was doing. He did guess what it was a couple weeks before which made Jules upset but the Bobble Head was still cool to get.

Jer started planning the cruise in September and secretly got one of Jules' friends numbers out of her phone when she wasn't looking. He began planning the trip with her friend and the friend's husband. The whole trip was booked and planned without Jules knowing exactly what was going on. She did happen to see an interesting purchase on the bank statement but still didn't know what it was.
